High School Concert bands

There are two bands in the high school program, both directed by HS Band Director Rob Wheeler. The Symphony Band is comprised of freshmen and sophomores. It meets in two sections, which are combined for concerts. The Wind Symphony is comprised of juniors and seniors, along with selected underclassmen by audition. 

Middle School Concert Bands

The middle school bands are directed by Caitlin Ramsey. The program includes a fifth-grade beginning band, a sixth-grade band, a seventh-grade band, and an eighth-grade band. In addition, seventh- and eighth-grade students have the opportunity to participate in the middle school's extracurricular jazz bands.

Students interested in additional music opportunities may audition for the District 1 6th Grade Honors Band, the Southern Maine Middle School Honors Band (7/8), and the District 1 Middle School Jazz Band (7/8). For more on the CEMS program, please visit the middle school band site.

HIGH SCHOOL CONCERT DRESS

If you are someone who wears a dress or skirt to formal events: White button blouse, black dress pants or black skirt with black tights, black shoes

If you are someone who wears a shirt and tie to formal events: White dress shirt, black straight tie, black dress pants, black socks and shoes


DISTRICT 1 HONORS FESTIVAL

Students interested in more music opportunities may audition for District 1 Honors for concert band, jazz band, or chorus. More info about this opportunity is coming.


ALL-STATE AUDITIONS

Auditions for All-State Festival for band, jazz, orchestra, and chorus take place in November. More info about this opportunity is coming. Given the technical challenges of the pieces, it is sometimes recommended that students first audition for District 1 Honors, then try for All-State sophomore year.


MIDDLE SCHOOL CONCERT DRESS

7th-8th Boys: Black dress pants, white button down dress shirt, tie (any color), dark dress shoes, dark socks

7th-8th Girls: Black dress pants or black knee length skirt with black tights, white dress shirt, dress shoes

5th-6th Boys: Any color dress pants, button down dress shirt, tie, dress shoes

5th-6th Girls: Any color dress pants or skirt/dress (knee length), dress shirt, dress shoes
